Cycling
with Be Well

We have a range of activities for both children and adults – including cycling lessons, Wheels For All, and our exciting and inclusive Cycle Three Sisters events.

Cycling lessons

Children

Cycle Tots (ages 2-4)

A fun outdoor session for pre-school kids to help them get going on two wheels. Designed to develop balance, coordination and confidence. Available Monday mornings at Leigh Leisure Centre (exc. bank holidays).

Bikeability Balance (ages 4-6)

Bikeability Balance is a fun and exciting way for young children to learn the basic balance and co-ordination skills they need to ride a bike. It includes a range of games and balance bike tasks (no pedals) to develop handling and awareness skills.

We have regular FREE Bikeability Balance taster sessions at Leigh Leisure Centre. Booking is essential via the app or our online booking portal.

Learn to Ride (ages 5-11)

We have Learn to Ride group cycle skills sessions outside of school hours, usually on Saturdays or during the school holidays. Training is delivered in small, friendly groups of six children by two qualified instructors. Booking is essential (please select ‘community venues’ and ‘Learn to Ride’).

Adults learning to ride a bike

Adults

Whatever you want to learn about riding a bike, Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) have a range of courses available to get you where you want to be.

They can teach you how to ride a bike for the first time, build your cycling skills and confidence, or help you learn hands-on bike maintenance.

With group, one-to-one, and family courses available – there are options for everyone!
