Enjoy a round of golf on our 9-hole municipal golf course at Pennington Flash Nature Reserve – with birdies galore (and maybe even a few eagles!).

Pennington Golf Course presents an enjoyable challenge for all abilities, with a mix of par 3, par 4 and par 5 holes. With 2,739 yards of largely flat parkland interrupted by streams and ponds, it’s a good size to practise on and develop your skills.

Booking is essential, with visitors able to book up to 3 days in advance and members of Pennington Golf Club able to book up to 5 days in advance. No ‘turn up and play’ is permitted.

  • 7 Day Season Ticket (Ages 22+): £38.50
  • 7 Day Season Ticket (Ages 21 & under): £15.00
  • 5 Day Season Ticket: £27.50
  • Season tickets valid for golf at both Haigh Woodland Park and Pennington Flash.
  • Trolley and equipment hire is also available at an additional cost:
    Trolley hire – £2.50
    Equipment hire – £5 per set of clubs

Payment will be taken on booking. Due to high demand, we cannot guarantee you will get your preferred day or time slot.

Pennington Flash is part of the Flashes of Wigan and Leigh National Nature Reserve – the first ever ‘NNR’ in the whole of Greater Manchester.

These wetland habitats are formally recognised by Natural England for their beauty and significance for wildlife populations. Pennington Flash is also a popular visitor attraction, with bird hides for nature lovers, a lakeside cafe and an exciting adventure playground.
