Wonderful woodland at the heart of Wigan

The magnificent Haigh Woodland Park is a wonderful place to go walking, or to enjoy a fun day out with all the family.

There are more than 250 acres of park and ancient woodland to explore, from the pleasant walled gardens and kitchen garden to the peaceful plantations. Discover them on your own or with friends, or why not join one of our regular group walks?

It’s also home to the historic and iconic Haigh Hall, which is currently being restored to its former glory as a nationally significant arts and culture attraction celebrating our local heritage.

So much fun for all the family…

There’s plenty to keep the kids happy and active, including regular arts and crafts, a fun fair (spring to autumn only) and an exciting adventure playground, while you can also play golf, adventure golf, crazy golf and even footgolf!

Haigh Woodland Park also hosts regular events, from live music and entertainment to singalong cinema experiences, while our Be Well Outdoors team offers thrilling high ropes adventures and educational woodland activities.

The fabulous Kitchen Courtyard has a bar, cafés, shops selling a range of hot and cold food options, artisan produce and gifts.
