Lane Swimming

Lane swimming works your whole body, building strength and endurance without putting too much strain on your joints. Suitable for swimmers aged 11+ who are competent in swimming lengths. Choose from different lane speeds depending on your ability.

What to expect from Lane Swimming

Lane Swimming sessions are ideal for those who want to focus in the pool. Choose a lane depending on your ability and swim lengths for a low-impact, full-body workout.

Please observe the following rules:

  • Make sure to follow the instruction boards and swim in a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction as instructed, even if the pool is quiet.
  • Allow faster swimmers to go past you. Please wait at the end of your lane and allow them to go in front before continuing to swim. If you find yourself being passed often, consider moving into a slower lane.
  • If you are being held up by a slower swimmer, it’s commonplace to give their feet a little tap. Please be patient as not all swimmers will sense your presence or feel the tap. They should pull aside for you at the end of the lane.
  • If you need to rest, please stop at the end of the lane and move to the side so you don’t get in the way of other swimmers.

Benefits of the session:

  • Enjoy swimming with no distractions
  • Different lane speeds to choose from dependent on your swimming ability
  • Low-impact aerobic exercise
  • Strengthen and tone muscles
  • Focus your mind and relax
