5 things
you’ll love about
Hatton Boxing

Boxers are some of the fittest athletes on the planet, so it’s no surprise all kinds of people (athletes and non-athletes) use boxing as for fitness.

And if you’re looking for a group ex class with a difference, that tries to make fitness fun, then Hatton Boxing pulls no punches.

It’s approved by four-time World Boxing Champion Ricky ‘The Hitman’ Hatton’s boxing academy, so you can count on it to be effective.

But how do you know it’s for you? Here are five things we think you’ll love about Hatton Boxing…

1. You don’t need to be a fighter

Know nothing about boxing? No problem! Our instructors make you feel included, show you the ropes and keep things pretty straightforward… so you’ll find you pick things up quickly even if you’re a total novice.

You work in pairs, so there’s a good chance your assigned partner has been to a class before or is even a regular, so they’ll be able to share a few pointers they’ve picked up too.

But it’s all pretty simple stuff and you’re not being judged on your jab technique or the power of your uppercut. The most important thing is getting your lungs blowing, and your arms and heart pumping.

2. Sparring partners

Joining a new class can sometimes be intimidating – especially when you know someone will be swinging punches in your direction!

Don’t worry about that though. One; they’re aiming at the padded mitts you’re wearing, not at you! Two; you’re working with each other, not against each other. And three; you’re not likely to find yourself paired with Tyson Fury here! There’s a wide range of ages and fitness levels, and a fair split of men and women.

The other great thing is working in pairs, as opposed to most classes where you’re doing your own thing or just trying to follow the instructor while stealing glances at your classmates to check you’re doing it right!

Here you help each other out and encourage each other along, and if you’re the social type then it’s a good chance to get to know somebody new and even make a new friend or two.

3. Instructors make it fun

Boxing is serious business and pro fighters put their health on the line each time they step into the ring. Luckily, Hatton Boxing is nothing like that! Some of the core skills may be the same, but the experience is totally different – and as well as improving your fitness, you’ll also have a laugh.

Be Well’s instructors put the fun into the fundamentals of boxing, keeping things light and breezy, offering tips to maximise your performance and motivating you with a banging dance playlist!

So even if you don’t exactly float like a butterfly or sting like a bee, you’ll likely smile as much as you sweat.

4. Break up the burpees!

Calisthenics (body weight exercises like push-ups, jumping jacks and burpees) are great for building strong muscles, but they can also be pretty brutal if you’re doing lots of reps. Some people find them not just hard but boring too.

Hatton Boxing keeps things fresh, with varied sparring drills interrupted at regular intervals by a squat, lunge or similar. It’s totally manageable and you can always adapt things to your ability if you find a particular movement difficult.

If you’re the type of person who usually prefers playing a sport to group exercise, you may find you like this class more than many others.

5. Feel like a champ

The best thing of all about Hatton Boxing is how you’ll feel afterwards!

There can be moments when, breathing hard and dripping with sweat, you’re counting down the seconds to the metaphorical ring bell.

But while your cardio fitness and stamina are tested, you’re never tempted to throw in the towel, because how you feel when the class is over is totally worth it.

You’ll leave knowing you’ve had an awesome all-round workout and be feeling like a champ for hours… if not days!
